Join Our Board

CPTSD Warrior Healing Society is looking for you.

Our Mission

We are a BC-registered nonprofit founded in June 2025. Our mission is to provide free, trauma-informed support, education, and resources to people living with CPTSD, with a focus on Indigenous people and culturally grounded, body-based healing.

We also support helping professionals, including therapists, educators, and frontline workers, by offering survivor-informed resources and training that help them provide more effective, culturally safe, and trauma-informed care.

Our resources are intentionally online and free, so that healing is accessible to everyone, wherever they are.

We recognize that many Indigenous people in Canada carry intergenerational trauma and understand its impact deeply. Healing from intergenerational trauma is central to our mission.

Everything we build is survivor-led, peer-informed, and rooted in the belief that healing is possible.

We are guided by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action, particularly those related to health (Calls to Action 18 to 24), education (Calls to Action 7 to 12), and professional training for those working with Indigenous peoples (Calls to Action 57 and 61).

Right now, we are actively recruiting voting board members to help us grow.

What we are looking for

We are seeking people who reside in Canada, with BC residency strongly preferred, who are committed to trauma-informed, culturally safe, survivor-led approaches, and who respect and honour Indigenous healing traditions and practices.

We strongly prioritize people with lived experience of CPTSD, including intergenerational trauma. This is central to our model, and a majority of our board will hold this experience.

We are also actively seeking Indigenous members (First Nations, Metis, or Inuit), as we are committed to maintaining an Indigenous-majority board, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioners (SEPs).

Other backgrounds we value include social work, finance, legal, communications, and education. No prior board experience is required.

What the role involves

This is a volunteer position. Here is what you can expect.

You will attend at least 4 virtual board meetings per year via video call, review materials and participate in decisions that shape the organization, vote on key organizational matters, support grant applications and programs, and uphold a trauma-informed, emotionally safe board culture.

You do not need a title or credentials to make a difference here. You need a why.

Why join us?

Be part of a survivor-led, Indigenous-centered healing movement. Help shape a new nonprofit from the ground up. Participate fully virtually from anywhere in Canada. Join a safe, trauma-informed board environment where your experience matters.

How to apply

We invite you to complete our online application form. It will take about 10 to 15 minutes and gives you space to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.

Our first Annual General Meeting is scheduled for July 14, 2026 at 7:00 PM PST, held virtually. We welcome applications from anyone interested in joining us for this founding milestone.
